My ICP Activity Lesson Plan (6th-11th Grade)

In this activity students learn how to develop their Individualized Career Plan (ICP), by bringing together the elements outlined in Pa. Code Chapter 4 - Career Education and Work Academic Standards into a Xello Portfolio. This activity can be introduced to students as early as 6th grade with ongoing development and reflection throughout middle and high school. Using Xello's Portfolios, students can reflect on their future plans while showcasing artifacts from their completed activities in Xello. They can also include selected work that supports their transition to postsecondary education or the workplace, or both.

Boss Bio Activity (5th Grade)

In this activity students will explore the Boss Bio stories in Xello to discover interesting tales about entrepreneurs who invented solutions to commonly known problems, and then imagine solutions to problems they wish they could solve today!

Entrepreneurship Investigation (8th Grade)

In this activity, students will compare and contrast entrepreneurship to traditional employment, list and explain qualities that would make a successful entrepreneur, and describe one idea for a new business, including competition and marketing.
