Xello securely exchanges data with Student Information Systems (SIS) through data integration. It's required to create student accounts in the program, and automatically takes care of tasks like deactivating, transferring, and updating student accounts, as long as the information in the SIS is kept up to date.

Ed-Fi exchanges data with Xello through an API integration. To set up nightly data transfer, follow the relevant instructions below.

Michigan data integration

Login to MiDataHub and follow the integration steps provided by Michigan Data Hub new tab. Ensure the Allow Viewing of Credentials in Management Portal box is ticked.

Once your API connection has been configured and published, please let your Onboarding Manager know to check the Ed-Fi management portal for your district's API connection details. Your OM will complete the API connection and test the data integration.

Wisconsin data integration

Xello has the ability to pull student records directly from the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) via an application programming interface (API) defined by the Ed-Fi framework. Xello must obtain approval from the school district before accessing the school district’s data. The Ed-Fi Credential application provides a method for the school district and vendors to authorize transmission of the data.

To set up the credentials and API, follow the Wisonsin Ed-Fi integration with Xello new tab instructions provided by the Wisconsin DPI.

Once your API connection has been configured and published, please let your Onboarding Manager know to check the Ed-Fi management portal for your district's API connection details. Your OM will complete the API connection and test the data integration.
