Understanding your Completion Standards

Completion Standards offer a comprehensive suite of tasks, providing flexibility to track student progress across a wide range of activities. These include built-in Xello activities such as career assessments, saving options, setting goals, and developing plans.

In your educator account, you can easily view the tasks that have been assigned to your students. Check out whether the task is optional, if it has a due date, if it's required over several grades, read a quick short description about it, and even view helpful resources to guide you in delivering each task in the classroom.

To begin checking out the Completion Standards sequence at your school, in your left menu, click Features and select Completion Standards.

The first page you'll land is the Completion Standards sequence set up by a Xello administrator at your school or district. If you are not a Xello administrator, you will see a blue banner letting you know the sequence cannot be edited.

In the main table is the list of tasks with an overview that includes their suggested instructional time, a link for resources, and columns for grades. In each grade and for each task, : 

  • A dash means the task hasn't been assigned to that grade.
  • A green checkmark means it has been assigned to that grade. They can be assigned to multiple grades. Students will only need to complete it once.
  • Tasks with an asterisk * next to it, are optional for students.
  • If a task has a filter icon next to it, then it is further scoped by schools and/or groups.

Click the task name to open a modal where you'll get more details about the task, including: 

  • A short description
  • Instructional and on-task times
  • The grades the task has been assigned to
  • Prerequisites, if any
  • Resources
